i must gratefully acknowledge justin unrau (hungry J) for his countdown as i ungratefully stole it from him without asking nor with proper citation. i actually steal a ton of ideas off of justin because he reads more than anyone i know and has an interesting life view... so yeah, i'm a big thief (hence why my favorite book is fugitive pieces)

i went to my church meeting today where we're starting to plan for the retreat i'm helping to facilitate in september on long-range planning and community outreach. i find church dynamics really interesting and i also find christianity's demographics really interesting. like why my church is all white and upper-middle class and conservative and why in the broader scheme so much of christianity is centred around the consumption-rich North... there are so many obvious hypocries and lessons out of these dynamics and demographics that it would be easy to harp on... but i'm more interested in whether there is some particular literary or cultural attraction to Christianity's message or if Christianity has just been over-run with a justification for North American culture...
