Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

About a boy who randomly posts but is filled with many thoughts, most of them ridiculous, some stupid and the odd one intriguing...

blah. so, my first day of work is done. today was also the day that three of the people i was hoping to get jobs from finally got back to me- two with positive results! all this after i spent the day photo-copying microfiche at the Provincial Archives, scanning it at UW and then cataloguing files at the office. So, needless to say, I'm a wee bit disappointed in my choices.

I work with a fairly eclectic group of people. My main co-worker is just wrapping up his Ph.D. in history. He did his M.A. on circus acts and freak shows and their contribution to societal understanding of science and technology. Needless to say he's eclectic and is only somewhat social. My other co-worker is just wrapping up her Master's degree in history studying welfare in Manitoba. She's really friendly but comes across as slightly vacuous. She's really bubbly though and wears colourful clothes.

The office environment is OK but pretty dull and quiet. As I said, i got called with another job interview today. Ethical dilemna: is it ok to go to a job interview after you've already accepted another job? I told them I had already found work but now i'm thinking... I haven't told the mayor's office yet so we'll see if they offer me something by the end of the week...

Let's try this again...

This is a test... Still checking...

i am now officially gainfully employed. yeah for earning my own bucks! i even get decently paid. unfortunately, i'm not sure how exciting it will be. anyway, i'm officially a researcher at Public History Incorporated, a research firm that specializes in aboriginal land usage and aboriginal land claims. Should be at least mildly interesting. Everyone I'm working with is either an M.A. or Ph.D. in History so I'll be a bit of an odd duck- like that's something new... Anyway, hopefully it doesn't slow down my blogging..
