Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

About a boy who randomly posts but is filled with many thoughts, most of them ridiculous, some stupid and the odd one intriguing...

It's back to the grind of working life. My visit, as you saw through the intinerary of previous posts, was a wee bit too much to cram into so few days. but it was AMAZING seeing so many people that i miss, love and care about. from dinner at sue's, to dinner with linda, bob, ben and john, to dinner with colleen- so much good food, good wine and amazing people.

i, however, have managed to come down with a nasty cold. it started with the throat ache (which the night at embassy didn't help) and now it's slowly moving into sinus tightness and a little bit of sneezing. blah to you the evil gods of health and wellness...

my former employer is also in the papers these days. i still keep in touch with some of the people there, so i always feel a bit conflicted on the subject. media convergence is a sincere problem in canada (and the world for that matter), however, there is a long and storied history to ownership views being propagated through papers.

in fact, some of the founding politicians of the dominion government were newspaper owners and conglomerates who helped breed a climate for confederation through their columns. it's interesting that this thing has suddenly become a huge harang when conrad black owned all of these papers and more previously. however, black's strategy was simply to fill his papers full of people who agreed with him. canwest has kept these people in place and now they're lashing back because they're not the same opinions as black's were...

anyway, i'll see how i feel after i have lunch with a friend who still works there next week.
